William Virgil Tillery, Iii Md

Augusta, GA – William Virgil Tillery, III, MD, 72, beloved husband of Julie Bahr Tillery, entered into rest on Wednesday evening, January 27, 2016 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church with Dr. Matthew Rich officiating. The family will receive friends following the services in the Reid Memorial fellowship hall.

Dr. Tillery was born in Carthage, Texas and was a die-hard Texas Longhorns fan. He was a longtime Opthamologist in the Augusta area with Southern Eye Center. Dr. Tillery was a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church and served as the president and leader of many civic organizations in Augusta.

In addition to his wife, Dr. Tillery is survived by his sons, William Virgil Tillery, IV (Lisa), and Robert Carl Tillery (Megan); his daughter, Meredith Tillery McNamara (Martin); and by his grandchildren, Arabella Margaret Tillery, Kendall Carly Tillery, Martin Patrick McNamara, Margaret Anne McNamara, and the soon to be born William Virgil Tillery, V.
