William E. Bert Bailey, Ii

Martinez, GA---Mr. William E. “Bert” Bailey II, 40, entered into rest on Monday, June 20, 2011. Bert is now resting, in the arms of Jesus, with no more pain or suffering.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am tomorrow Friday, June 24, 2011, in the
Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with Reverend Dave Dillard officiating. Interment will be private.

Bert was a graduate of Evans High School, Class of 1988 and attended Augusta State University. He was an avid Atlanta Falcons fan, hunter and fisherman. He loved animals and was co-owner of Connie’s Happy Tails, pet groomers. Bert was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Caver C. Dennis and by his paternal grandparents, William E. and Carolyn Bailey.

Survivors include his parents, William E. “Bill” and Connie Dennis Bailey, of Martinez, GA, sisters, Merrilee B. Coley and husband, David and Amanda B. Bentley and husband, Ray, all of Evans, GA, daughter, Caroline J. Bailey, life partner, Shelly Bates, both of Augusta, GA, maternal grandmother, Frances H. Dennis, of Martinez, GA and by his nieces, Katelynn, Mackenzie, Braelin and Bria Rae, all of Evans, GA.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation, to Augusta Oncology Associates and Trinity Hospice, for the care and support given to Bert, during his illness.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Kitchens and Patrick McLaughlin.

The family will receive friends this evening Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Platt’s Belair Road, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
