William David Fahnoe

Augusta, GA---Mr. William David Fahnoe, 56, entered into rest on Monday, March 16, 2009, at his residence.
A celebration, of his life, will be held at a later date.
Mr. Fahnoe was born June 13, 1952, in Wilkinsburg, PA, but had been a resident of Augusta for more than 30 years. He graduated from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL in 1974, where he was a member of the President’s Honor Roll and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He was an instructor, of Figure Drawing, at Augusta College, Augusta, GA, from 1980 to 1984, instructor of Figure Drawing and Portrait Painting, at Gertrude Herbert Art Institute, in Augusta, GA, from 1979 to 2000, instructor for Georgia Governors Art Award Program, at Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School, Augusta, GA, from 1994 to 1998. Among his many awards were Third Place, in the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art, Juried South Eastern Regional Competition, in 1980 sponsored by the Gertrude Herbert Art Institute, of Augusta, GA and the City of Augusta Mayor’s Award for Meritorious work in the Visual Arts, in 1994. Among his numerous Corporate Commissions, were the Inaugural Art Work, for the Boshears Memorial Fly-In Festival, including a Dual Portrait, Logo and Posters in 1986 and the Promotional Art Work and Poster, for the Southern National Champion Boat Race, in 2000. He currently has an exhibit, at #10 Downing, 241 Laurens St. SW, Aiken, SC 29819. Mr. Fahnoe was the owner and operator of Fahnoe Fine Arts, at 222 8th Street, Augusta, GA 30901.
Mr. Fahnoe was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Charlotte Fahnoe.
Survivors include his daughter, Charlotte E. Yeglic and husband, Joseph, of Laurel, MD, son, Christian J. Fahnoe, of Augusta, GA, brothers, Norman Fahnoe and wife Martha, of Camarillo, CA and Harold Fahnoe, of Tacoma, WA.
No visitation is scheduled.
