William "Billy" Dakuras

William “Billy” Dakuras, age 70, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at his residence while he was surrounded by his loving family.

Billy was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Constantine “Gus” Dakuras and Evelyn Trigonis Dakuras. Proud of his Greek heritage, he was a loyal member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Billy spent his entire career with Club Car where he traveled the world leaving an impact wherever he went. He leaves a legacy at the company through his love and passion for people. With his jovial attitude, Billy always lit up the room, his glass was always half full, and he never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Dakuras.

Left to continue his legacy is his loving family: his wife of 47 years, Sophia Dakuras of Grovetown; his son and daughter-in-law, Dino and Demetroula “Debra” Dakuras of Evans; his sister, Ester Dakuras; and many nieces and nephews. “Papouli” as he was lovingly called, is also survived by his two granddaughters, Kenzleigh and Alexis. He also leaves behind his many friends from Club Car and the golf world.

The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, March 26, 2021 in the Chapel of Platt’s Belair Road with the Trisagion beginning at 7:30.

Funeral services will take place at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with Reverend Vasile Bitere officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
