Wiley Penland

Evans, GA – Wiley Penland, 86, husband of the late Alice Penland, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 1, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. Chapel with Rev. William F. Hilley officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Penland retired from the United States Army after 26 years of service. He served during WWII, Vietnam War, and the Korean War. He was a proud veteran and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Mr. Penland was a member of West Acres Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Randy Penland and wife Debbie of Evans, GA, Keith Penland and wife Pat of Dawsonville, GA, one daughter, Mary Marcus and husband Lonnie of Young Harris, GA, brother, Paul Penland of Buford, GA, three sisters, Vallie Buchanan and Margaret Sue Dear, both of Akron, OH, Janice Hopkins of Glen Rock, PA, two grandchildren, Melisa Woznicki and husband Rev. Andy Woznicki of Dawsonville, GA, Max Marcus of Young Harris, GA, four great grandchildren, Abby, Caleb, Stephen, and Drew Woznicki.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 10:00AM until service time at the funeral home.
