Wesley Davis Brownlee

Aiken – Mr. Wesley Davis Brownlee, 83, beloved husband of Jane Brownlee, entered into rest on Monday, November 5, 2012 at Aiken Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Pastor Craig Williams officiating.

Wesley Brownlee was born August 13, 1929 in Atlanta. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1946 to 1947, when he joined the US Navy. In 1967, he retired as chief hospital corpsman. In the service, he earned several medals, including 2 stars for major battles in Korea, aboard the USS General J.C. Breckinridge TAP 176. He served as of president of the Fleet Reserve Association, Puerto Rico, vice president of the Hospital Corpsman United (National) and Exalted Ruler of BPOE 205. He retired from Georgia Regional Hospital after 29 years as assistant Superintendent. He was a current member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars Fleet Reserve Association, BPO Elks 205 Augusta, GA., the Hospital Corpsman United, and the Florida Chief Petty Association.

He married Dorothy E. Williamson of Forest Park, Ga., in 1953. She passed away in 2001. In 2004, he married Jane Moseley in 2004.

In addition to his wife, Jane, he is survived by a son, Guy Dennis Brownlee, his daughters, Dorinda Doyle and Jimmie Osterhoudt (Bill), his grandchildren, Alison Biles, Stacy Osterhoudt, Scott Osterhoudt, Jennifer Brownlee, and Christopher Brownlee, and his great grandchildren Matt and Makayla Davis and Carter Mackes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Aiken SPCA, 199 Willow Run Road, Aiken, South Carolina, 29803.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, November 8, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
