Tillman Ty Powell

Augusta,GA.- Mr. Tillman “TY” Powell age 91, entered into rest at the McDuffey Regional Hospital on Thursday May 7, 2009.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel with Pastor Mark Trimm and Dorothy Spaulding Officiating.
Survivors include. His wife, Carrie Powell, one son, Steve Powell and his wife Barbara of Clarks Hill, SC, one daughter, Janice P. Gesche and her husband Paul of Aiken, two sisters, Alice Brown of N. Augusta, Eugenia Turner and her husband Paul of Augusta, three grandchildren, Jack L. Allen Jr., Penny Goodman, and Clay Powell, and seven great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Mr. Tillman was preceded in death by his mother and father, Eugene and Georgia Powell, one brother, Julian Powell, a wife, Janie Pardue Powell, and a sister, Mary Dyson.
Mr. Tillman was active with the racing community in Columbia County. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.He was a business owner selling used cars, and he drove a school bus for over twenty years.
The family will receive friends in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2009.
