Sue Hunter Newton

Augusta,GA.- Mrs. Sue Hunter Newton age 95, wife of the late Morris D. Newton entered into rest at her residence on Sunday, December 27, 2009.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the Crawford Ave. Chapel of Platt’s funeral home with Fr. David Thompson officiating, Interment to follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Newton was a member of Greene St. Presbyterian Church , and was a lifetime member of the Women of the Church. She also taught Sunday School at the church.
Survivors include, two sons, M. Douglas Newton Jr. of Los Cruses,NM, Charles H. Newton of Greenville,SC Two daughters, Susan Newton Meloan of N. Augusta, and Mabel Newton Printup of Watkinsville,GA. Twelve grandchildren and nineteen great- grandchildren and one great- great- grandchild.
The family would like to thank the Plaza Personnel at St. Johns Towers for all of the care given to Mrs. Newton, and the family would also like to thank the Regency Hospice caregivers for all of the care that was given.
The grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, December 28, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
