Augusta, GA – Mrs. Sue Biggs Sandbach, beloved wife of Mr. David F. Sandbach, entered into rest on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Doctor’s Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Christ Episcopal Church, Valdosta, GA. with the Rev. Peter Ingeman officiating.
Sue was a long time member of Christ Episcopal Church in Valdosta. She was also a founding member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Valdosta. Sue was a charter and lifetime member of the Valdosta Chapter of the Daughters of the King, an Episcopal Order for women. She was a passionate and dedicated chairperson for the Commission for Alcohol and Drug Addiction in the Episcopal Church on a local and national level. She devoted her holidays to delivering food for Meals on Wheels. Sue was an ardent member of the Cursillo, Emmaus and Kairos Christian Renewal communities and helped launch the Walk to Emmaus community in Valdosta and Augusta. She served as Lay Rector for the third Walk to Emmaus in both Valdosta and Augusta. She was a devoted homemaker and wife for 53 years, and above all, she loved her family.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Barbee S. Reeves of Val Rico, FL; three sons, David F. Sandbach, Jr. of Valdosta, GA, William Andrew Sandbach of Leesburg, GA and Robert Bradly Sandbach of Grovetown, GA; a brother, Bobby Biggs of Starke, FL; and thirteen beautiful grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.
