Stella Amerson Runyan

Augusta, GA – Mrs. Stella Amerson Runyan, 87, beloved wife of the late Patrick W. Runyan, entered into rest on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Eisenhower Army Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Rev. Sherrell Dunn officiating. Interment to follow in West View Cemetery.

Mrs. Runyan worked for Fine Products as well as Blanchard’s Day Care. She was a member of Curtis Baptist Church, VFW Post 205 Women’s Auxiliary, Harrisburg Coffee Club, Busy Bees, and the German-American Club.

Mrs. Runyan is survived by her son, Donald C. Ward, Sr. of Belvedere; her step-son, Phillip Runyan of Arizona; her brothers, Bill Amerson (Joanne) of Augusta and Allen Amerson (Liz) of Appling; her daughter-in-law, Jamie Ward of Martinez; her grandchildren, Blythe Blackwell (Tracy Jennings) of Belvedere, Richard Ward (Angie) of Tennessee, Cory Ward (Jessica) of Graniteville, Miriam Ward of Augusta, and Patricia Runyan of California; 15 great-grandkids; one great-great-grandson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Runyan was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas A. and Jesse Mae Amerson; her son, Richard R. Ward; her daughter-in-law, Joyce L. Ward.

The family would like to send special thank you out to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Eisenhower Medical Center, and also the staff at Kentwood Nursing Home.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, May 15, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
