Mrs. Sara Frances Parrish
Augusta, GA---Mrs. Sara Frances Parrish, 81, beloved wife of Dr. R. Edward Parrish went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am today Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Augusta with Dr. Rodger Murchison officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
She graduated from Tubman High School in 1947. She was a buyer for Sears and Roebuck for 20 years. Throughout the years, she was an active member in the Order of Eastern Star, Richmond Chapter # 463, where she was the Worthy Matron. More recently, she was an avid gardener and Georgia Bulldog fan, as well as grandmother to her two grandchildren.
Mrs. Parrish was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Margaret James and one son, Ronald E. Parrish and a brother in law, John T. Anderson.
In addition to her husband, Frances is survived by her daughter, Dr. Margret L. Parrish and son in law, Lee Wright and grandson Alexander J. Wright of Augusta, granddaughter, Sarah A. Parrish of Evans, GA and sister, Dorothy J. Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frances will be remembered for her love of flowers and her lighted trees, during Christmas time.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Richard L. Clardy, Benjamin Marion Brake, Dr. Thomas I. Hodges, Dr. J. William Holden, Robert Gordon Huff and Charles L. Salter.
