Ruth Murphy

Augusta – Our beloved mother, Ruth Murphy, has joined loved ones in heaven on Monday August 6, 2012.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Platt’s Belair Rd. Chapel with the Rev. David Strickland and the Rev. Albert Stroup officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Murphy was a life-long resident of Augusta, where she had worked at JB White’s for over 30 years. She was a charter member of Whispering Pines Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Richard Murphy and Linda of Thomson, GA, Michael Murphy and Dale of Lincolnton, GA, and Jerry Murphy of Augusta, GA, her daughter, Martha M. Beckum and Larry of Wrens, GA, step-daughter, Catherine M. Easter and Benny of North Augusta, SC, 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and a few great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Hazel Wallace Langdon, her husband Nesbit C. Murphy, Sr., brother JT Langdon, step-son Nesbit C. Murphy, Jr., and her sisters Evelyn Cumbee and Anne Mills.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Mills, Brian Cowart, Carter Murphy, Linton Beckum and Adam Ducey.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday August 8. 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
