He left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His great loves in life were his Lord, his family, and his church. The course of his life was forever changed when he was invited to Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church in Norfolk , Va by his close friend’s mother, Celia Belle Stewart, where he fell under conviction from the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He sought the Lord and obtained the blessing of salvation.

Through the church, he met his best friend and loving wife, Margaret Eloise Mustin. He grew a successful masonry business in Norfolk, VA, with his life-long friend and partner, Leon Stewart.

Being moved by a conviction to further the Gospel of Christ, he and others moved to Augusta, GA in 1963. His masonry work soon developed into a successful homebuilding business, Brush and Collier Builders. Through the years many in the local construction trades worked for him. All were touched by his loyalty, his love for his work and his employees, and his gracious and generous spirit. His business ventures included construction, contracting, property development, real estate, and property management.

His passions as stated were God, family, and church. He also enjoyed airplanes, boats, and classic cars. He held a private pilot’s license for many years, and was a member of the Shade Tree A's, a local Model A club.

He was immensely devoted to the welfare of others. He cherished his dear family, for whom he joyously gave of himself, for all of his days. He was a fixture in the lives and events of his children and grandchildren. He was always present for birthdays and other special events and outings. He cherished the time spent on yearly family vacations together. His loving family will miss him always.
