Grovetown, GA – Robert (Bob) Mitchell Carson, 66, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 27, 2017.

Bob was born in Dalton, GA and graduated from Dalton High School. He attended Middle Georgia College and went on to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Management. While at Georgia Tech, Bob was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Bob retired from General Motors after 27 years of service.

Early in life, he became active with the Boy Scouts of America and received the recognition of Eagle Scout. Bob was an avid Georgia Tech football fan. He loved hunting and the sport of fly fishing. Bob had a great sense of humor and loved pulling practical jokes on family and friends.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Herschel Lee and Edna Maynard Mitchell and parents Joe M. and Suzanne Mitchell Carson. Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Carson; daughter, Valerie Elizabeth Carson; son, Alexander Mitchell Carson (Lindsay); stepson, Jason Dallas Gause (Shalonda); brother, John Mitchell Carson (Patricia); four grandchildren, Quinn and Scarlett Carson, Jasmine Gause, and Soraya Morris; nephew, Bradley Carson; niece, Adrian Carson; and many cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held in Dalton, GA at a later date. Bob was loved and will be missed by many.
