Robert H. Mr. Sherman, Jr.

Augusta, GA---Mr. Robert Hayes Sherman, Jr., 88, entered into rest on Monday, December 19, 2011 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am tomorrow Thursday, December 22, 2011, at Westover Memorial Park, with Reverend Greg Hatfield officiating.
Mr. Sherman was a native of Augusta and was a graduate of Richmond Academy. He attended the Georgia Institute of Technology “Georgia Tech” and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and was a member and past President of the Forest Hills Lion’s Club. Mr. Sherman enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially having coffee with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Louise Humphrey Sherman, his parents, Robert Hayes Sherman, Sr. and Alva Willingham Sherman, his brother, Frank “Josh” Sherman and his sister, Betty Sherman Collins.
Survivors include his sons, William Humphrey Sherman and wife, Ruth, Robert Hayes Sherman III and wife Becky, his daughter, Suzan L. Sherman, all of Augusta, grandchildren, David H. Sherman and Amy Sherman, step-grandchildren, Michelle Boulineau and Ashley Harwell and husband, Chris, step-great grandchild, Ethan Harwell and nieces, Joan Walker and Donna Quinn and husband Kieran.
The family will receive friends this evening Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
