Harlem – Mr. Robert E. Perry, Jr., beloved husband of Jan Perry, entered into rest on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

In addition to his wife, Jan, he is survived by a son, Vince Perry (Julie), a daughter, Erin Salmon (Vafa), a sister, Anne Baker (Tony), and two grandchildren, Gabe Perry and Zia Salmon.

The major loves of Bob’s life were his family, history, woodworking and helping people learn about the Baha’i faith. He is best known for his passion for living history. He was never happier than when he was dressed as a backwoodsman from the 1750’s, smelling of wood smoke and talking to a class full of school children or trekking through the woods.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to any of these charities; Colonial Williamsburg Foundation (www.history.org), Adopt a Native American Elder, (www.anelder.org) or the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, March 19, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
