Evans, GA – Richard “Dick” M. Sutton, 50, entered into rest on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Doctor’s Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Lewis Memorial UMC with Rev. Eddie Bradford and Rev. Sonny Sellers officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Dick was a member of Lewis Memorial UMC where he was a former usher and charter member of the Growing Christians Sunday School class. He was employed by Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRS) for 23 years. He loved to hunt, golf, and ride his Harley Davidson. Dick was also well known for his cooking and would hand carve walking sticks for various people. He was also an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years; Beth C. Sutton, two sons; Miles Sutton and fiancé Lyndsie Thigpen of Grovetown, GA, Blake Sutton of Evans, GA, one daughter; Mary-Beth Sutton of Evans, GA, his mother; Lois Patricia Morse of Augusta, GA, two brothers; Gene Sutton and wife Robin of Lincolnton, GA, Robert Sutton and wife Camille of Martinez, GA,. Dick was preceded in death by his father; the late Oliver Sutton, and his brother; the late David Sutton.

Pallbearers will be Don Joyner, Lloyd Ward, Brian Nimmons, Larry Golden, Randy Wilson, and Jamie Newsome. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of K area and F area along with his longtime friend Joe Hamilton.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the funeral home.

Special thanks to Dr. Curt Ray, Dr. David Allen, and all the 4 East staff at Doctor’s Hospital for all the care and compassion that has been shown.
