Ret. Freddie V. Sfc Coley

Martinez, GA – SFC Ret. Freddie Vernon Coley, beloved husband of Jewell Bacon Coley, entered into rest on Sunday, September 6, 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at West Acres Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Harmon officiating. Interment with full military honors to follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Coley served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his military service he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Purple Heart, and the Bronze Star Medal, amongst others. Mr. Coley loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and worshipped at West Acres Baptist Church. Following his retirement from the United States Army Mr. Coley worked with Mulherin Lumber Company.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Coley is survived by his children, David W. Coley (Merrilee), and Janice C. Barnes (Darryl); his grandchildren, Anna M. Barnes (fiancé Taylor), Katelynn C. Moore (Tyler), Mackenzie G. Coley, and James V. Barnes; his brother, Jimmie Coley (LouAnn); his sister, Sharon Siple; and by his sister-in-law, Lucy Coley. Mr. Coley was preceded in death by his parents, William and Evelyn Parker Coley; and by his siblings, William Coley, and Shirley Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Coley, Mark Horton, David A. Coley, Thomas Bacon, Mike Grady, and Roy Strickland.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, September 9, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
