Raymond Troiano

Martinez, GA – Raymond Troiano, 87, entered into rest on Tuesday June 2, 2009 at Morningside Assisted Living Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday June 6, 2009 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. chapel with Chaplain Richard Thigpen officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Troiano was a veteran of WWII, and a retired engineer after 38 years of service from the Westinghouse Elevator Company. He also retired from the Martinez Volunteer Fire Department after 20 years of service. Along with his wife, Mr. Troiano volunteered at the Ft. Gordon Dinner Theatre for 20 years and participated in a senior bowling league. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Ethel Troiano; two sons, Raymond D. Troiano and wife Bonnie of Evans, Gary R. Troiano and wife Susan of Pittsburgh, PA; one daughter, Catherine Prysiazny of Martinez; one sister, Helen Troiano of Pittsburgh, PA; four grandchildren, Jason R. Troiano and wife Beth, Patricia Tessari and husband Joe, Gregory Vaniscak and wife Brenda, Jennifer Troiano; and six great grandchildren; Jack Troiano, Martha Troiano, Libby Troiano, Shelby Jo Vaniscak, Jessica Vaniscak, and Nicholas Vaniscak. Mr. Troiano was preceded in death by his sister, the late Edith Vorndran.
