Ralph Carney

Augusta – Mr. Ralph A. Carney, 57, entered into rest on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at his residence in Orangeburg, S.C. He served his country proudly for ten years in the army beginning during the latter years of the Vietnam War. Ralph was a dedicated father and grandfather;he devoted his life and all his love to his family.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at 4:00 PM at Platt’s Belair Chapel with the Rev. Reggie Horne officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until service time.

Mr. Carney is survived by his sons, Jerry “Jay” Carney (Tiffany), and Brad Carney (Kim), his daughters, Allison Kirkland (Brent), and Valarie Carney, his stepfather, Lenwood Cassnettie, his surrogate mother , Helen White, his grandchildren, Joshua Carney, Brayden Carney, Jackson Kirkland, Matthew Carney, and Makayla Carney. He is also survived by two brothers, Wendell Carney and Jerry White, Jr., and six sisters, Shirley Turner, Diane Lucas, Terri May, Laurie Bugg, Donna Kumiski and Karen Lamb.
