Phyllis Pearre Steed

Grovetown – Mrs. Phyllis Pearre Steed, beloved wife of the late John Leonard Steed, Jr., entered into rest on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Augusta Gardens.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Abilene Baptist Church with Dr. William F. Harrell, Rev. W. Irvin Pearre Jr., Dr. Brad Whitt and Rev. Terry Doss officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Steed was a member of Abilene Baptist Church since 1979, where she worked as the church financial secretary for 32 years. Prior to her service at Abilene, she was employed by Georgia Pacific Corporation for 15 years.

She is survived by her sons, John Steed III, Pearre Morgan (Alana) and Jim Steed (Elaine); her daughters, Diane Moore (Henry), Lynne Byrne (Bob),
Julie Thigpen (Gary) and Libby Carswell (Joe); her 14 grandchildren, Salem Moore,
Keli Connell, Tyler Moore, Haley Moore, Jenna White, Rachel Byrne,
Benjamin Thigpen, Lauren Hudson, Matt Carswell, Clay Carswell, Katelyn Morgan,
Casey Willis, Todd Greene and Cole Steed, as well as eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Rev. W. Irvin Pearre, Jr. (Euphemia) and a special friend and caregiver, Melissa Ryan. She was preceded in death by her husband,
John L. Steed, Jr., her parents, Walter I. and Grace Harris Pearre, and a daughter, Donna Steed.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Harris, Jimmy Harris, Danny Harris, Brad Hefner,
Kevin Hefner, and Pat Woodworth. Honorary pallbearer will be Rob Hefner.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, July 10, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
