Peggy Davidson Duvall

Augusta, GA - Peggy Davidson Duvall passed away on Sunday September 11, 2016, in Augusta, GA.

She was born Peggy Lamar Davidson on November 15, 1927, to Josephine Gainey Norvell and Albert Treat Davidson. Peggy was predeceased by her parents, her brother Thomas McElhenney Fry and her sisters Josephine Fry Skinner and Mary Joan Davidson. She is survived by her husband, Carleton Leroy Duvall III, her sons, Charles Freeman III, Davidson L. Freeman, MD (Gwen), and Albert Norvell “Skeete” Freeman all of Augusta. Peggy is also survived by her granddaughters Cynthia Reid Connor (Michael) Atlanta, GA; Caroline Ruth Bozeman (Jay) Westport, CT; Candice Leigh Gardner (Truett) Tampa, FL; grandsons C. Davidson Freeman, Mt. Pleasant, SC; John McArthur Freeman (Caroline) Savannah, GA; Thomas Franklin Freeman, MD, Atlanta, GA. Peggy also is survived by 8 great grandchildren in addition to her step daughters Laura Cecelia Duvall and Rosie Duvall Speer (John) also of Augusta. The family is especially thankful for the loving care Laura provided to Peggy during her illness.

Peggy was born and raised in Augusta and graduated from Tubman High School for Girls. She was a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church, a former member of Camellia Garden Club and the Augusta Country Club. Near and dear to her heart was Lynndale, Inc., where her son Skeete has attended for over 50 years. Peggy was a loving and dedicated wife and mother but she was absolutely the best grandmother ever! She truly loved life and her friends who along with her family will treasure their memories of her.

The family will receive visitors at Platt’s Funeral Home, 721 Crawford Avenue, Augusta, GA on Tuesday September 13, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Graveside services will be Wednesday September 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Westover Memorial Park with Reverend Dr. Matt Rich officiating.
