Opal P. Etheridge

Mrs. Opal Patton Etheridge,98, entered into rest July 21, 2014 at Kentwood Nursing Home.

Born in Jasper, AL, Ms. Etheridge resided in Atlanta before moving to Evans to be near family. She was a member of Wesley Methodist Church, and will be remembered for her love of animals, gardening, dancing and family.

Ms. Etheridge is preceded in death by husband Walter, and survived by daughter, Susan Etheridge Hadden, son in law Tommy, and grandchildren Rachael, Lauren and Thomas. Special thanks go to the staff of Kentwood Nursing Home and friend Ethel Parks for the wonderful care given to her in recent years.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 6:00PM until 7:30PM at Platt's Funeral Home Belair Road. Burial will take place at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA at a later date. Family and close friends are invited to a remembrance ceremony prior to the visitation from 5:30PM until 6:00PM.
