Mildred Hodges Mckinney

Augusta, GA – Mrs. Mildred Hodges McKinney, 87, beloved wife of the late Horace Edward McKinney, Jr., entered into rest on Sunday, October 5, 2014.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 9, 2014 in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Mr. Doug Gantt officiating.

Mrs. McKinney loved baseball especially her Atlanta Braves and Augusta Greenjackets. She was a member of the Greenjackets Diamond Club. Mrs. McKinney also loved spending time outdoors fishing.

Mrs. McKinney is survived by her daughters, Martha Ann Lee (Merrell Rentz), Kathy McKinney (Danny Smith), and Shirley McKinney; her sister, Lucille Howard; her grandchildren, Sonya Roberson (Rick), Deneen Rosales, Jackie Pitts, III, and Ronald Horace McKinney (Claire); her great grandchildren, Crystal, Cassie, Susan, Brandon, Jeremy, and Watson; her great-great grandchildren, Caleb, Nathan, Taylor, Kameron, Kalvin, Sa’Nai, Cyprien, and Landon; her daughter-in-law, Rhonda McKinney; her sister-in-law, Christine Gantt; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by her son, Ronald McKinney; her brothers, Rufus Edwin Hodges and Joe Robert Hodges; and by her sisters, Jessie Mae Smith and Roberta Causey.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, October 8, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
