Augusta - Michael E. “Mike” Wallace age 24, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 19, 2009.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2009 at Warren Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Travis W. McNeal and Rev. Shane Padgett officiating.

Mike is survived by his parents, James and Karen Wallace of Evans, one brother, Rod, and one sister, Melody, also of Evans. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Mildred Wallace of Temperance Hall, North Carolina, Eloise Lowe of Red Oak, North Carolina and Landon Lowe of Elizabethton, Tennessee.

In addition to his immediate family, Mike is survived by a large extended family in North Carolina. He had 18 aunts and 35 cousins in the eastern North Carolina area.

Mike was a 2003 graduate of Greenbrier High School, and was attending Augusta State University as a Business major. He was a member of Warren Baptist Church.

Mike was well known and well loved by the downtown restaurant community. His employer named him “The King of the Cotton Patch”, the restaurant where he worked for the last four years. Mike had a passion for cooking and loved to create fine dining experiences for family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Bottoms, Chad Neville, Jordan Edmondson, Brian Mitchell, Jim Reagan, and Michael Kashani.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, May 21, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his honor may be made to Warren Baptist Church for the 20/20 Vision (Building Fund), 3203 Washington Rd., Augusta, GA. 30907.
