Maxine Jackson Allen

Maxine Jackson Allen, 80, beloved wife of the late William C. Allen, entered into rest on Thursday, June 15, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 19, 2017 at National Hills Baptist Church with Dr. Kevin Steele officiating. Interment to follow at Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until service time.

Mrs. Allen worked in her younger years at General Motors. She worked for Augusta College in Continuing Education and retired with 20 years of service. Mrs. Allen was also a founding member for I.A.T.S.E. Local #629 Stagehands Union in Augusta, GA, which helped to bring culture and entertainment to our community. She was an active and vital member of National Hills Baptist Church teaching and serving on committees to help bring others closer to Jesus Christ. Most of all, she was constantly helping and providing care and support to her family, friends, and her community. Mrs. Allen will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her sons, Ira T. Cartee, and Michael J. Cartee (Sheree); her daughter, Melissa L. Cartee; her step-sons, Butch and Jeff Allen; her sister, Betty Lariscy; her six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
