Mary M. Scoggins

Augusta, GA – Mary McCaslan Scoggins, 86, entered into rest on Monday January 7, 2008 at University Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday January 10, 2008 at Central Christian Church with Rev. Jim McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Scoggins was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She retired from King Mill after 50 years. Mrs. Scoggins was a member of Central Christian Church and enjoyed meeting with the Sewing Club.

Survivors include her loving husband of 34 years, James G. Scoggins Sr. of Evans, one son, David T. McCaslan and wife Carolyn of Augusta, one daughter, Glennis Blevins and husband Earl of Modoc, SC, one step-son, Mickey Scoggins and wife Carol of Martinez, one step-daughter, Kitty Hall and husband Charles of Augusta, her adopted family, Bobby and Carolyn Williams of Kite, GA, eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Mrs. Scoggins was preceded in death by her first husband, the late David C. McCaslan Jr. and her grandson, the late Earl W. Blevins III.

Active pallbearers will be Frank Thomas, Don Senecal, J.R. Baxter, Frank Gearhart, Claude Andrews, and Keith Rhodes. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Sewing Club.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 9, 2008 at Platt’s Funeral Home Crawford Avenue from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
