Evans – Mrs. Madeline M. Beckman, beloved wife of the late George A. Beckman, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at University Hospital.
Mrs. Madeline M. Beckman’s Graveside services has been rescheduled for (today) Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Gaspar Hegedus officiating.
Mary was born on October 22, 1922 in Omaha NE. She graduated from Creighton University in Omaha with a degree in Nursing.
She served as a Navy nurse in World War II. After the war, she served as an OB/GYN charge nurse for 45 years.
She was married to George Beckman on August 31, 1940. They had three sons and two daughters.
She and her husband were prominent breeders of Morgan Horses and also enjoyed collecting antique knives and rare coins.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Beckman of Washington, DC, John Beckman and wife, Ramona of Colorado Springs, and Arthur Beckman and wife, Nancy of Bloomington, IL., and two daughters, Marilyn Bowcutt and husband ,Rocky of Grovetown and Brenda Markel and husband, Robert of Vinita, OK, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and long time family friend, Ronald Steffenson.
She is preceded in death by her husband George, her brother John (Jack) Mountain, and her granddaughter Jessica Markel.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, January 9, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00.
