Evans, GA –Mark L. Moseley, 56, entered into rest on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at his residence surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Augusta with Dr. Greg DeLoach and Dr. Rodger Murchison officiating. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church Memorial Garden.

Survivors include his loving wife, Joyce Rose Moseley; son, Andrew Clay Moseley and wife Suzanne of Savannah, GA; daughter, Jennifer Moseley Shearouse and husband Clint of Atlanta, GA; his mother, Alice Moseley Haas and stepfather Dick of Decatur, GA; one sister, Laurie Scarpelli and husband Tony of Chicago, IL; nephews, Luigi and Salvatore Scarpelli of Chicago, IL; in-laws, Hubert and Evelyn Rose of Evans, GA; brother-in-law, Lester Rose and wife Marsha of Greensboro, NC; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mark was preceded in death by his father, the late Dr. Ted Clay Moseley.

Mark was born in Atlanta, GA and graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Business Management. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta and the Cason Bruker Bible Class. He formerly served as Property Committee Chairman and as a Boy Scouts Scout Master at the church. Mark was a salesman for Process Technical Sales, Inc. He was the former President of Savannah River Section of the Instrument Society of America (ISA) and the former ISA Trade Show Chairman for 10 Years. Mark was involved in coaching T-Ball, coach pitch, baseball, and fastpitch softball with the Martinez-Evans Little League. Mark also served on the Martinez-Evans Little League Crawford Creek Park Development/Construction Committee. He was formerly an assistant softball coach at Riverside Middle School and currently at Greenbrier High School. Mark was awarded the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Fastpitch Assistant Coach of the Year on the state and region level several times. He formerly served as the Chairman of the Development Authority of Columbia County, Chairman of the Site Selection Committee for the Savannah Rapids Pavilion Project, member of the Year Round School Evaluation Committee for the Columbia County Board of Education, member of the Columbia County Board of Education Superintendant Search Committee, former PTSO President at Evans Elementary and Riverside Elementary, member of the Principal Search Committee at Greenbrier High School, and former Greenbrier High School Booster Club President. Mark was also involved with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. He was founder and chairman of the Citizen’s Auxiliary Unit and was Chairman of the Citizen’s Advisory Board. He was also the former President of the Columbia County Exchange Club, Columbia County Exchange Club fair chairman. Mark and his family were the recipients of the Family of the Year Award with the Augusta Junior Woman’s Club and 10th District of the Georgia Federation of Woman’s Clubs.

Mark will be remembered for his love of family and church, untiring community service, and desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Black, Birnie Florie, Gary Stephens, Brent Stein, Heyward (Buddy) Hawkins, Richard Young, Duncan Harvin, and Joe Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers will be the Cason Brucker Sunday School class. Also seated together to honor Mark will be members of the Columbia County Sherriff’s Office, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Auxiliary Unit, and members of the Greenbrier High School softball team past and present.

The family will receive friends following the service in the rotunda of First Baptist Church of Augusta.
