Augusta, GA – Mrs. Marjorie Wiggins Reese, age 84 beloved wife of Mr. George Arnold Reese, Sr. entered into rest on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Doctors Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 30, 2010 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Gaspar Hegedus officiating. Interment to follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. Reese was born and raised in Augusta and was a member of St Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She was an avid sportswoman enjoying playing tennis, bowling, and roller skating. Mrs. Reese also enjoyed watching her Atlanta Braves. Her family will remember as a loving wife of 67 years, and also a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Reese is survived by her two sons, George Arnold Reese, Jr. and wife Carol of Lorton, VA and Dennis Anthony “Tony” Reese and wife Sallie of Vienna, VA; his two daughters, Marjorie L. Leake and husband Buddy of Amissville, VA and Gloria Leibbrand and husband Charles of Lewes, Deleware; her four brothers, Richard Wiggins of Augusta, GA, James Wiggins of Tulsa, OK, Clifford Wiggins, Tulsa, OK, Mack Wiggins of Shreveport, LA; two sisters, Laura Willis of Augusta, GA, Carolyn Symonds and husband Charles of Augusta, GA, seven grandchildren, Buddy Leake, Jr., Karen Bruch, Brandon Reese, Vincent Reese, Beth Anne Munford, Lisa Nguyen, Bobby McAree, Jr. and nine great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Braxton W. and Lavenia Beaulieu Wiggins; her daughter, Kathleen A. McAree; and her two brothers, Gary and B.W. Wiggins.

A vigil for the deceased will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel and the family will greet friends following the vigil until 8:00 PM.
