Augusta – Mrs. Marian Donahue Jackson, 84, beloved widow of the late David Vernon Jackson, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Trinity Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011, at 2:00 pm at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with the Rev. John Tran officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. Jackson was a parishioner at St. Mary on the Hill where she was a former president of the Ladies Auxiliary. She served as a Pink Lady at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and was secretary/treasurer of her husband’s company The Gentry Men’s Shop. She was a loving mother and devoted catholic.

She is survived by her two sons, Bruce A. Jackson (Becky) and Mark J. Jackson, both of Augusta, two daughters, Cecelia J. Givens (Mark) of Graniteville, SC. and Laura J. Phifer (James) of Landrum, SC. and two sisters, Louise Lee of Louisville, Kentucky and Edna Popps (Alfred) of Sellersburg, Indiana. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Vernon Jackson, and her sons, David Vernon Jackson, Jr. and Gary Lawrence Jackson.

Pallbearers will be David Jackson, Chris Jackson, Jeff Clubb, Ben Taylor, Worth Andrews and Tommy Brittingham.

The family would like to thank everyone at Trinity Hospice, as well as her care givers.

There will be a Vigil for the Deceased at Platt’s Crawford Ave. Chapel on Thursday evening, February 10, 2011 at 6:30 pm, followed by a visitation from 7:00 until 9:00pm.
