Evans, GA---Mrs. Margaret S. Pitchford, 87, entered into rest on Friday, March 2, 2012 at Doctors Hospital of Augusta.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Road, with a farewell to be offered by Reverend Wasco Perry.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of the Griffith Mortuary, in Pittsburgh, PA, a visitation will be held prior to the services beginning at 12:30 pm.
Mrs. Pitchford, daughter of Matthew and Susan Shultz and wife of the late Arthur Pitchford, was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
Her main joy in life was being a homemaker and taking care of her daughter and being a loving wife to her husband.
Mrs. Pitchford was a well-traveled respectable lady. Her travels took her around the world and across many of the states, including Alaska and Hawaii. Mrs. Pitchford and her husband decided to make Augusta Ga their home 23 years ago, after their daughter married.
Survivors include: Her daughter and son in law, John and Kim Morgan, of Augusta, Georgia; Her granddaughters, Sarah and Suzanne Morgan, of Augusta Georgia; Her great grandsons, Riley and Jonathan Morgan, of Augusta Georgia; Her step-grandchildren, Regan Feigel and Sean Sandifer, of Texas; and Courtney Pitchford, of Florida. And the people who have taken care of Mrs. Pitchford in her later year and who have become extended family, and have a special place in our hearts; Ethel and Bobby Smith; Azia Thurmond, and Keela Lewis.
Friends of the family are welcome to come and pay their last respects before the family takes Mrs. Pitchford home to Pittsburgh.
