Madeleine Chavous Mcferrin Nix

Appling – Mrs. Madeleine Nix, 83, beloved wife of the late Larry E. McFerrin and the late Lee Nix, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at her residence.

We will come together and celebrate her life at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Dr. Pauline Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. Nix was a lifetime member of Central Christian Church, a member of Helping Hands Humana Seniors, and had retired from King Mill after 33 years of service. She was lovingly known to so many as “Granny” and to know her was to love her. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Glenn McFerrin (JoAnne), Debra McFerrin, Vickie McFerrin, Lenora Asbill (Forrest), Dorothy Ann Lankster (Charles), Albert Nix (Carol) and Sarah Johnson, and, her brother, Lee Chavous (Esther), her eight grandchildren, Susie, Chris (Jackie), Danielle(Sean), Shannon (David), Wil, Jessica (Chris), Crystal, Heather and Sarah, as well as 13 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nora Mae Chavous, her brother, Charles and her sister, Christine.

Pallbearers will be Forrest Asbill, Wil Asbill, Cory James, Tylor James, Chris McFerrin and Charles Lankster.
