Lessie Mae Duncan

Mrs. Lessie Mae Duncan, 81, beloved wife of the late Charles Duncan, entered into rest on Thursday, June 28, 2016 at her daughter’s residence in Grovetown.

Mrs. Duncan, a native of Sanford, N.C., was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mattie Gilliam. She married, relocated to Washington, DC, where she raised her family and served as Juror Officer for the District of Columbia Superior Court for over 20 years.

She is survived by her children; Sandra McNees (John), and Jonathan Emerson, grandchildren; Jonathan A., Sheya, Nicole, Azekeal, Erin, and Curtis, Jr., siblings; Joseph Gilliam, Jr., and Josephine Turner, numerous great grandchildren and a special cousin; Rosa Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her son; Curtis Emerson, grandson; Anthony Emerson, her siblings; Fletcher Gilliam, Irene White and Clarateen Nelson.
