Mr. Leslie L. Cox

Augusta, GA – Mr. Leslie L. Cox, age 76 beloved husband of Mrs. Betty Tucker Cox entered into rest on Monday, August 2, 2010 at Doctors Hospital.

Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 6, 2010 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with William F. Harrell, Pastor of Abilene Baptist Church officiating. Interment to follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Mr. Cox served his country proudly in the Korean Conflict and also the Vietnam War. He retired from the United States Army holding the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a faithful member of Abilene Baptist Church where he was a member of the Emory Sayer Sunday School Class. Mr. Cox also worked for and retired from the Columbia County Recreation Department. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, and spending time with his family. Mr. Cox lived to love his granddaughter, wife and family.

In addition to his wife Mr. Cox is survived by his children Joel Cox of Evans, Richard Cox of Wichita, KS, Teresa Martin of Mcloud, OK, Mary Mazur, of Wichita, KS, and Marian Good Rick of Olatha, KS; his grandchildren, Brittnie “Princess” Cox, Joshua, Matthew, and Sarah Cox, Denise, Cody and James Martin, Jonathan, Benjamin, Christopher, Jessica Good Rick, and Mekenna Mazur; his great-grandchildren, Nick, Xandria, Jordan, Josiah, and Dakota Martin, and Sariah Good Rick; and step-grandchildren, Cody and Courtney Steele.

Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his daughter Georgia Cox.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Emory Sayer Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, August 5, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
