Lawrence C. Hartlage, Ph.D

Evans - Dr. Lawrence C. Hartlage, 80, died on July 25, 2014, at his residence. Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, he earned a B.Sc. from Ohio State University, M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Louisville, Diplomate in Clinical Psychology, American Board of Professional Psychology and Diplomate from American Board of Neuropsychology.

Funeral services will be held at Platt's Funeral Home in Evans, at 1:30pm on Tuesday, July, 29th, Father Michael Ingram of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church presiding. The family will receive friends after the service. He will be buried at Ft. Jackson in Columbia, SC.

Dr. Hartlage was an Eagle Scout and Army veteran, and during his distinguished career as a researcher, author, consultant and teacher, served as President of the American Psychological Association, Division of Neuropsychology; National Academy of Neuropsychology; National Brain Injury Research Foundation and the Georgia Psychological Association. He loved his work and helped his patients up until his death.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Hartlage M.D.; son, Jeffrey Luken Hartlage, Kahului, HI; daughter, Mary Beth Pfister (Matt), Lexington, SC; brother, Theodore Jeffrey Hartlage (Joan), Portsmouth, OH; and grandchildren, Natalie and Ryan Pfister, Lexington, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Child Enrichment Inc. or the building fund at St. Teresa of Avila Church.
