Kathy A. Matos

Kathy Ann Matos, age 73 entered into rest on August 22, 2021 with her loving family and friends by her side.

Kathy was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Gaspare Provenzano and Katie DiMieri Provenzano. Kathy dedicated her life to her family, to rescuing dogs, and to the special education office at the Columbia County Board of Education. Kathy loved life and enjoyed boardgames, camping at the beach, and “winning” at the casinos. Part of an Italian family, Kathy enjoyed cooking… and lots of it. Kathy had a heart of gold and a spirit of leadership. Everyone needs a “Kathy” in their life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Maria DeClair and Lucille Leeman.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 52 years, David Matos; two sons, David Mark Matos (Catherine) and Michael Paul Matos (Ashley); two grandsons, Marc Matos and Sean Matos; and one brother, Peter Provenzano (Deborah).

A rosary will be said at 6:30 P.M. Tuesday in the Chapel of Platt’s Belair Road. The family will receive friends following the Rosary until 9:00 P.M. at Platt’s.
