Martinez, GA - Judi Workman Wilkerson, 53, of Martinez, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012.

She was born on April 15, 1959, in Ruislip, England, to Shirley and Thomas Workman. After years of living around the world as a military family, Judi and her family settled in Chicopee, Massachusetts. There she met the love of her life, Steve Wilkerson. They married on July 2, 1980, and enjoyed over thirty-two years of marriage. They welcomed a daughter, Jessica Diane, on July 4, 1983.

Judi pursued a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and touched thousands of lives in the CSRA as a nurse. Her passion for helping others most recently led her to work at Augusta Oncology Associates. Judi found her calling in oncology nursing, using her sharp mind and kind heart to help her patients through their battles with cancer. She also taught CPR and participated in Relay for Life. She loved traveling to Aruba, going to concerts, playing trivia, bowling, listening to Josh Groban and Michael Buble, and going on beach trips with her best friends.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Steven Wilkerson of Martinez, GA, one daughter, Jessica Wilkerson of Martinez, GA, her father, Thomas Workman and wife Genene of Thomasville, GA, three sisters, Teresa Lawhorne of Thomasville, GA, Kelly Shea of Webster, MA, Kerri McWilliams of Warner Robins, GA.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd., Augusta, GA 30909, in honor of Judi’s passion for helping her patients battle cancer.
