Judith Hurd

Hurd, Judith A (Hayes), 80, of Evans, GA passed away peacefully on
Saturday, April 16, 2022, surrounded by her loving children, Kristen Hurd of Aldie, VA, Kimberly Hurd of Gilmanton, NH and Sarah Hurd Lancaster of Evans, GA. She was the wife of the late Michael F. Hurd, LCDR, retired, United States Navy.

She was born in Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Arthur Hayes and Mae Hayes (Girard) and grew up in Winsted, Connecticut. She attended local schools and graduated from the Gilbert school. She also attended Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA.

She was married to her husband in 1962. Together they raised a family and lived in many places abroad and within the United States to include Malta, Naples, Italy, Colebrook, CT, Portsmouth, RI and Evans, GA. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter and sister who was loved by all. She was a gourmet cook and loved sharing food with family and friends. She enjoyed spending time on her patio planting flowers and reading a good book. Her greatest passion, however, was her family and spending time with them. She will be missed by all.

In addition to her three children, she is survived by her brother, Girard Hayes of Wethersfield, CT, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She will be buried with her late husband at Arlington national cemetery. The family will gather to remember her at a date to be determined.
