Josie Haddox Casdorph

Augusta, GA---Jesus is a happy man today, Sister Josie is home. Mrs. Josie Elizabeth Haddox Casdorph, 92, entered into rest on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Gibson Health and Rehabilitation Center, Gibson, GA.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, tomorrow Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in the Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Reverend Julia McKinley officiating. Interment, of Cremated Remains, will follow at 1:00 pm at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown, GA.
Mrs. Casdorph was born February 29, 1917, at home, near Vixen, Louisiana. She was the second to the youngest of eight, three brothers and five sisters. She worked for the state of Louisiana, under Huey P. Long. She married Luther Earl Casdorph in 1948, at the Hanford Nuclear Plant, in Washington State and had three wonderful children, Larry Edward Casdorph, Deborah Kay Casdorph Blume and Earlene Casdorph Vittone, who, in all, have given her nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Her greatest achievement, in life, was her selfless service, to spread the word of God. In 1994 she was given a plaque from Morris Carrillo Ministries, for bringing One Million souls to Christ.
Mrs. Casdorph is survived by her son, Larry Edward Casdorph, daughters, Deborah Kay Casdorph Blume and Earlene Casdorph Vittone, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren, one brother, Frank Haddox and one sister, Lennie Upshaw.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, from 10:00 am until the time of services, at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
The family would like to express their gratitude and say a special “Thank You”, to the nurses and staff of the Gibson Health and Rehabilitation Center, Gibson, GA, for the care and attention given to Mrs. Casdorph.
