Jordan was born on April 20, 1987 in Macon, GA. He is the son of Samuel Warren Cruse and Gloria Gaultney Cruse. He attended Blue Ridge Elementary, Lakeside Middle, Lakeside High, and graduated from Westside High School in 2005. Jordan also attended Augusta State University before moving to Statesboro where he attended classes at East Georgia. He returned to Augusta after spinal problems brought him home for medical treatment. While in Augusta he attended classes at Georgia Military College and worked at Quantum Fitness. His medical issues increasingly took a toll on his ability to do the things he loved, including shooting basketball and weightlifting.
Jordan was a member of Stevens Creek Church and was baptized there. He recovered slowly from being paralyzed, relearning to walk and use his arms again. Through the prayers of many and Jordan’s faith in the power of Jesus, he managed to move forward with daily activities.
He was the grandson of the late Joe and Louise Gaultney of Macon, GA and the late Warren and Vivian Cruse of Douglasville, GA. Other survivors include his sister, Heather Cruse Tanner; aunts and uncles Sheryl and Dick McGillivray of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and Tricia and David Andrews of Evans, GA. His cousins were especially loved by Jordan and grew up like his sisters. They are Lauren Andrews Mitchell of Oxford, MS, Becca Andrews and Katie Andrews of Evans, GA.
