Johnny Sims

Augusta, GA---Mr. Johnny Sims, 79, entered into rest on Monday, May 10, 2010 at Specialty Select Hospital of Augusta.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 am, tomorrow Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, 4501 Wrightsboro Road, Grovetown, GA 30813, with Reverend Hal Hodgens officiating.
Mr. Sims was a native and lifelong resident of Richmond County and was a member of Marks Baptist Church. Mr. Sims served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and retired after 41 years of employment in Civil Service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lois Reed Sims, parents, Arthur and Marie Weathers Sims, son, Randall Reed, granddaughter, Michelle Reed, grandson, Russell Reed, 2 brothers, James B. Sims and William “Bo” Sims, 2 sisters, Lois Faye Sims Baker and Dorothy Sims Ansley.
Survivors include his daughter, Lynn Smith of Maryville, LA, sons, Butch Reed and wife, Pam of Augusta, Steve Reed and wife, Gloria of Dearing, GA, John D. Sims and wife, Sheila of Hattiesburg, MS, brother, Bobby Sims and wife, Sharon of N. Augusta, SC, companion, Hazel Gilmer of Augusta and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation, at the Funeral Home, however the family will greet friends, at the graveside following the services, on Wednesday. Those wishing to attend the services are asked to meet at the Cemetery.
