John Richard Nelson

Evans, GA – Mr. John Richard Nelson, 61, entered into rest on March 31, 2015 at University Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with Pastor Sonny Jones officiating.

John loved his church family and enjoyed his service as an usher and groundskeeper at the church. He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, and hunter.

He is survived by his son, Daniel N. Nelson; his mother, Gladys A. Nelson; two sisters, Vicki L. Nelson, Beverly Nelson Antonio (Joe); and his extended family, Regina and Mike Hogan, and Justin Hogan.

He is preceded in death by his father, Merlin Nelson, and his brother Douglas Merlin Nelson

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
