Jesse Edward “Red” Pounds, Jr., 77, entered into rest on January 10, 2021.

A private family service will be held at this time.

Ed was a devoted husband, loving father and doting granddaddy. He was a lifelong resident of Augusta, GA and faithful member of Curtis Baptist Church. He served as a deacon for many years and was always there for those who needed him. He worked for many years at Clearwater Finishing Plant and FMC and spent the years after enjoying life with his wife and family. Those who knew Ed always enjoyed his contagious laugh, unmistakable way of answering the phone and love for local country cooking.

Ed was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Edward Pounds, Sr. and his mother, Gloria W. Pounds. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie Jo Pounds; his children, Bonnie Pounds Iarocci and Edward Pounds (Lisa); brother, James Pounds (Brenda); sister, Camille Powell; grandchildren, Jessica Iarocci Talbott (Jacob), Gilbert John Iarocci, III (Michelle), Emily Pounds, Callie Pounds; great-grandchild, Arya Grace Iarocci; and many other family members who loved him dearly.
