Augusta, GA – Jerry Byne Wilson, 76, beloved husband of Marian Brown Wilson, entered into rest on Monday, August 17, 2015.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Westover Memorial Park with Deacon Terri Degenhardt officiating.

Mr. Wilson was a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Waynesboro, GA. He graduated from the Academy of Richmond County, the University of Georgia, and the Medical College of Georgia. Mr. Wilson worked for more than 30 years until his retirement at the Medical College of Georgia serving as an Associate Research Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and with the school of Medicine. He also worked for more than 25 years until his retirement at the VA Hospital serving as the Clinical Laboratory Manager. Mr. Wilson was a member of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry, the American Society for Clinical Pathology, and the American Chemical Society.

Mr. Wilson worked hard his whole life to provide for his family and do everything he could to make their lives better. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Wilson is survived by his sons, Jerry Wilson, Jr. (DeDe), John S. Wilson (Denise), and Matthew M. Wilson (Marsha); his grandchildren, Kyle S Wilson, William Clay Wilson, Matthew Hay (Lorin), and Mallory Keeble; his brother, Ray L. Wilson (Patricia); and his sister, Linda Morse (David). He was preceded in death by his brother, William H. Wilson, Jr.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, August 19, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
