James Hayes

Augusta, GA---Mr. James Hayes, 75, entered into rest on Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Charlie Norwood Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 1:00 pm, at Ascension Lutheran Church with The Reverend Michael E. Freed officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Hayes was the owner and operator of Jennings Machine Shop. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church. He loved to fish and especially enjoyed visiting and talking with his friends.
Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Heidi W. Hayes, daughters, Jadene Brown and Liesel Maddox, granddaughters, Jamie McGahee and Katie Watkins, great granddaughter, Makayla McGahee, brother, William T. Hayes, Jr., all of Augusta and numerous nieces and nephews.
Men of Ascension Lutheran Church will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends this evening, Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
