Appling, GA – Mr. Henry Ernest Plagwitz, 87, beloved husband for 63 years to the late Mary Ellen Black Plagwitz, entered into rest on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at his residence.
A memorial service for Mr. Plagwitz and his late wife Mary Black Plagwitz will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry C. Harmon officiating.
Both natives of Augusta, GA, Mr. and Mrs. Plagwitz were married in 1949. Mr. Plagwitz was a charter member of West Acres Baptist Church. He was a Army Veteran of WWII, where he was on the front line during D-Day. Mr. Plagwitz received the Purple Heart Medal, Bronze Star Medal and the Good Conduct Medal for his services.
Survivors include two sons; Billy Plagwitz, Jr. and Cookie of Lincolnton, GA., Henry Plagwitz, II and Dot James of Augusta, GA; five grandchildren, Rose (Jay) Evans, Billy (Brandi) Plagwitz II, John (Jane) Plagwitz, Henry Plagwitz, III, Ellen Nicole Plagwitz and ten great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the residence of Jay and Rose Evans, 2639 Panda Lane, Appling, GA. 30802 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
