Augusta, GA---Dr. Henry Benton Bridges, 80, entered into rest on Monday, July 15, 2013 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Westover Memorial Park with The Reverend Robert D. Fain officiating.
The family will receive friends following the services, at the graveside.
Dr. Bridges was born in Plains, Georgia to the late, John Pate Bridges and Mary Lillian Denham Bridges. He was a graduate of Emory University, in Atlanta and the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Bridges was a longtime member of the Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
Survivors include, his wife of 54 years, Alora Wade Bridges of Augusta, GA, sons, Henry B. Bridges, Jr. and wife, Kelly of Augusta, GA, Douglas W. Bridges of Charlotte, NC, daughters, Kate B. Ferguson and husband, Mark of Augusta, GA, Kathleen B. Brown of Augusta, GA, Janet B. Carn and husband, Bill of Appling, GA, eight grandchildren, Jamie and Allie Bridges, Maggie, Anna and Clayton Brown, William and Tyler Burr and Grace Ferguson, sister in law, Gail Bridges of Americus, GA and cousin, Janet Coons of Jacksonville, FL.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Trinity Hospice and caregivers, Leon Lewis and Russell Newson.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Bridges, Allie Bridges, William Burr, Bill Carn, Mark Ferguson and John Nixon.
If so desired, the family would appreciate, memorials in Dr. Bridges name be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2230 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904.
