Harry R. Agner

Augusta, GA – Mr. Harry Recle Agner, 80, beloved husband of 61 years of Laverne Bridges Agner, entered into rest on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at University Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Central Christian Church with the Rev. Dr. Emmitt Tip Carroll officiating. Interment to follow in West View Cemetery.

Mr. Agner was beloved by his family and was a very dedicated husband to the love of his life, father and “Papa”. He retired from the Graniteville Company after 40 years. Mr. Agner was a deacon at Central Christian Church and was said to have never met a stranger.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Agner is survived by his son, Russ Agner (Elizabeth); his daughter, Stacy McCorkle (Billy); his sister, JoAnn Amerson (Bill); his six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Darryl Agner; his sisters, Myrtis Hall and Dorothy Redd; and by his granddaughter, Jennifer Agner Mansell.

Pallbearers will be Chris Agner, Troy Moody, Cody McCorkle, Keith Agner, Noah Mansell, and Justin Baker.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, January 13, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00
