Harrison Woods, Jr

Grovetown, GA - Mr. Harrison “Woody” Woods, Jr., 71, entered into rest on Saturday, November 15, 2014.

Harrison was born on August 8, 1943 in Quincy, Florida. He and his parents, Mr. Harrison Woods, Sr. and Mrs. Mamie Lee Adams –Woods, moved to Albany, New York at a young age. Harrison moved to Grovetown, Georgia in 2003 and continued to build a lifetime bond with the Benning and Lowe Families. Harrison made friends easily and was well known in the community as someone who was sincere and enjoyed life.

Harrison leaves behind his loving companion; Ms. Marian Elayne Kennedy; Brothers; Steven Benning – (Best Friend) and Walter Steward, Sisters; Claudia, Stephanie, Kelly Hathcock, Dawn Benning. Woody’s extended family includes Lillian Benning, Renard Wright and Mr. Johnny Carthern. He was a devout friend and family man despite not having children of his own; he was a father figure to many others in his life.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. Chapel on Saturday, November 22, 2014. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
